Our Innovation Center of Excellence (ICoE) is a cutting-edge research and development facility that advances RFID and wireless IoT value chains with breakthrough inlays and tags.

Located in Munich, Germany, the ICoE is a technology innovation hub for RAIN RFID (UHF) and HF/NFC products as well as for related IoT technologies and components such as special antennas for RFID inlays and tags; emerging Ambient IoT technologies like Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE); and the attachment of sensors, batteries, solar cells, and other inlay components in a cost-effective roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet manufacturing process.

Specialty Antennas
As more and more industries adopt wireless IoT technologies for a broad variety of different applications, the demand for different form factors and materials has grown. Cutting-edge innovations such as printed, precision laser-cut, and hybrid laser-cut antennas enable ultra-thin, flexible, and highly sustainable inlays and tags, designed for specific use cases and applications.

Emerging Wireless Technologies
Customer and market interest in Ambient IoT technologies, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is on the rise. The Tageos Innovation Center experts in BLE and wireless IoT technologies can help design the next generation of inlays and tags, enabling a smarter and broader Internet of Things (IoT).

Specialty Attachments
Some products have specific requirements that need dedicated expertise. Our ICoE engineers are highly skilled in designing reliable attachments of flexible or coin cell batteries, solar cells, capacitors, resistors, sensors, and other non-wafer-based inlay components.

Engineering-as-a-Service
Our ICoE team offers Engineering-as-a-Service (EaaS) capabilities, providing comprehensive technical and commercial support for label converters, service bureaus, and system integrators. EaaS can be leveraged as a resource for prototyping and industrializing innovative labels and tags. Tageos' highly skilled and experienced teams can help with the design, build and testing of prototypes and samples in smaller quantities.

Volumes at scale will be seamlessly passed to our worldwide high-quality, certified production facilities in France, the US and in China. With a total annual capacity of over 12 billion products, each site produces several billion inlays and tags per year and features the latest manufacturing equipment. All sites are certified for superior quality.

Additional EaaS offerings include project consulting, application engineering support, technical process optimization; and programming and implementation support to ensure the best technical and business fit.

Testing and Validation
The Tageos Innovation Center of Excellence provides a comprehensive testing and validation service, including customized testing devices and software, which helps customers to scale up their production processes for high-volume manufacturing. This service can be provided for small batches to fine-tune manufacturing parameters, as well as on a large scale.
