Your Ticket to Success: Our New Portfolio
An important part of Tageos’ strategy is to grow together with our customers. This also includes the joint development and conquest of new market segments, in this case the large and stable public transport and event ticketing market.
RFID-based tickets are widely used in event ticketing, public transport, amusement parks, airports, corporate offices and various other applications for fast and secure access control as well as cashless transactions. Not surprisingly, the public transport and event ticketing sectors now account for more than 15 percent of the total market for passive HF inlays and tags, as the use of these products greatly improves efficiency, strongly reduces fraud and enhances the user experience in a variety of industries, according to Tageos’ market assessment.
A demanding market. But it’s worth it.
Although it is not the fastest growing segment of the RFID market, public transport and event ticketing have specific demands because, unlike other segments, it requires a high level of security and standards, resulting in a higher level of product and service features. The rapidly growing demand for sustainable products is also driving the replacement of plastic cards and tickets (with a medium validity period) with paper-based products and inlays - a traditional strength of Tageos. Consequently, it is in the ultimate interest of Converters and System Integrators in the ticketing and event access market to work with a supplier that can offer innovative and high-quality products that offer many different types of features, while fully respecting its role in the RFID value chain: another strength of Tageos.
These are just some of the factors that have led the company to offer new RFID inlays specifically designed for the ticketing market segment, while offering all the quality, performance and sustainability advantages that have made us become one of the most successful and fastest-growing players in the entire RFID market.
EOS-970 MIFARE® UL C: The ideal choice for public transport and event ticketing
One of the first RFID products for the public transport and event ticketing market is the EOS-970 MIFARE UL C, which offers superior and highly reliable HF performance. Equipped with a proven IC from NXP® Semiconductors, it’s fully supported by existing RFID infrastructures and also offers an innovative antenna design that combines the best features of market-leading solutions, making it perfectly suited for a wide range of applications in both public transport and event ticketing.
IC agnostic design
Since full compatibility and interoperability with existing infrastructure is essential for a successful market entry, Tageos chose a proven and widely used chip for its debut product. As the inlay’s name suggests, it is a member of the MIFARE product family, NXP’s MIFARE Ultralight® C (MF0ICU2) IC. It is specifically designed for use in contactless smart tickets or smart cards in combination with Proximity Coupling Devices (PCD). It features an intelligent anti-collision function and complies with the ISO/IEC 14443 Type A standard.
The antenna design of the EOS-970 MIFARE UL C inlay offers another advantage: It allows easy integration of newer variants of MIFARE ICs or even other chips, making the inlay the basis for a new line of compelling products and a versatile starting point for ticketing applications.
EOS-970 MIFARE UL C is available in dry, wet, plastic-face and paper-face delivery formats as of now. To request samples, please contact the Tageos sales team.
