Tageos Expands NFC and HF Portfolio and Launches Retail and Sensor Innovations at RFID Journal Live!
Montpellier, France, May 10, 2023 – Tageos, a global leader in sustainable, high-performance RFID inlays and tags, today launched a broad range of its latest product innovations. New passive sensor inlays, a new family of extra small and comprehensively certified RAIN RFID inlays for retail applications and the introduction of its HF and NFC product lines are just some of the highlights presented.
At the occasion of the RFID industry’s flagship event, RFID Journal Live! 2023 in Orlando, Tageos introduces its new sensing RAIN RFID (UHF) and HF/NFC inlays and tags, as well as leading innovations for small and demanding retail items. Moreover, the company is presenting the industry’s broadest portfolio of 100% plastic-free, truly sustainable RAIN RFID inlays (EOS ZeroTM), showcasing live demos of temperature and strain sensing applications on site with market-leading partners. All the new products presented are based on the latest microchips from leading IC manufacturers.
Expanding the portfolio with new HF and NFC products
Until today, Tageos has focused on enhancing and optimizing its portfolio of RAIN RFID (UHF) inlays. With the continuously strong growth in product and capacity demand and its recently announced opening of two new production sites in the USA and China, the company can now even better meet manifold customer requirements and at the same time focus on addressing the expansion of its product portfolio, such as its range of brand-new HF and NFC inlays and tags, to enter their respective markets at scale. With respect to the EOS-920, EOS-930, EOS-940 and EOS-970, all based on the latest, market-leading ICs, the very first members of this new product line are available as of now.
The EOS-920 NFC inlay is a versatile and small (20 mm diameter), yet high-performing and cost-effective NFC inlay to cover multiple NFC applications in various industries. It enables state-of-the-art solutions for consumer engagement and customer experience, product authentication and diversion protection, as well as many other smart product and packaging applications.
The EOS-930 NFC inlay is also a versatile and cost-effective but slightly bigger (30 mm diameter) and higher-performing NFC inlay to cover a similar range of NFC applications. EOS-930 enables tagged products or packaging to provide smartphone-accessible digital content to customers and other stakeholders in the value chain, from manufacturing through point of sale to point of use and recycling.
The EOS-940 HF inlay combines excellent performance and extended user memory with exceptional versatility for use in a wide range of applications such as, but not limited to, library and media management.
The EOS-970 HF inlay provides a performance edge in a variety of applications related to library and media management, as well as other applications requiring checkout and check-in of stacked items and EAS (electronic article surveillance). As the designations of both HF inlays imply, they use the newest member of NXP’s SLIX product family, the ICODE SLIX2 IC.
EOS-261 inlays: The perfect answer to RFID mandates in retail
Tageos is not only innovating in the HF/HFC segment, but also in its core RAIN RFID market portfolio, with the launch of three new EOS-261 RAIN RFID inlays that create a new family of retail-specific products. Sharing the antenna design and ultra-compact footprint of the existing EOS-261 M730, all EOS-261 inlays and tags are based on the latest generation of RAIN RFID ICs from Impinj (M730m, M750) and NXP (UCODE 9, UCODE 9xe). The new product family provides retailers with compelling options for fully ARC-certified RFID inlays that comply with RFID mandates from industry heavyweights.
All four current members of the EOS-261 product family excel through exceptional versatility in retail applications by meeting all ARC specifications (W1-6) plus several other retail-related specs (F, G, N, O, Q, R, Y). Another asset of the EOS-261 family is its footprint: Featuring an antenna size of just 44 x 20 mm each, all EOS-261 variants are the market's most compact inlays featuring the latest-generation ICs from Impinj and NXP.
EOS-8xx Sensor Series: Pushing the application envelope
One year after the introduction of its RAIN RFID EOS-840 sensor products, the market's first versatile, battery-free sensor inlays based on Asygn’s next-gen AS321x chips, Tageos expands its range of sensor inlays with new product innovations. Based on the latest AS3213S sensor IC from Asygn, the new products can measure mechanical strain and temperature. Thanks to an optimized antenna design (24mm x 94 mm), the new sensor inlays provide extraordinary RF performance and longer read range especially on high-dielectric materials and surfaces.
Showcasing NFC, sustainable products, and RFID sensing solutions
Alongside these product introductions, the focus of Tageos' presence at RFID Journal Live! 2023 will be on its offerings for highly sustainable inlays, NFC tags and passive RAIN RFID sensors.
As in previous years, the company’s EOS Zero™ product line continues to represent the industry’s broadest portfolio of 100% plastic-free, truly sustainable RAIN RFID inlays and tags. In just one year after their launch at RFID Journal Live! 2022, Tageos’ passive RAIN RFID Sensor products have proven their strengths in various applications.
In Orlando this year, Tageos will show live demo applications that highlight the temperature and strain measurement capabilities of its sensor inlays in real-world conditions and in conjunction with off-the-shelf readers. These sensor capabilities will be enhanced to include other aspects - such as light and humidity measurement - in the future, expanding the already broad range of application areas that include healthcare, food safety, agriculture, structural health monitoring and others. The company’s range of new NFC inlays and tags will complete the picture by showcasing newly enhanced customer experiences for a broad range of applications, connecting customers and products by instant and unique digital values and experiences.
Displaying innovative strength and customer orientation
“In terms of new product launches, this year's RFID Journal Live! is a milestone for Tageos. With the current range of new products, we are setting standards and demonstrating our unbroken innovative strength and customer orientation. And not only that: Our many product innovations presented at this event, coupled with our increased manufacturing capacities in the USA and China, complete the picture and prove that we can support any global customer demand better than ever before,” said Nicolas Jacquemin, Chief Sales Officer at Tageos.
