ARC RFID Lab Specification T reflects the specific requirements of the tire industry in general and of one of its major players from the US in particular. Auburn University RFID Lab lists a moderate selection of compliant inlays from three suppliers – and one that features dimensions that are particularly advantageous for highly efficient converting processes, Tageos’ EOS-460 U9. With an X pitch (antenna “length”) of just 75mm (versus 80mm for the next smallest competitor), it is the narrowest of all listed inlays and yet maintains the required sensitivity in 90/270-degree orientation.

Besides its particularly advantageous dimensions, the inlay is perfectly suitable for both tire trade companies and manufacturing industries, including automotive and aviation, thanks to its overall reliable performance on rubber surfaces and a wide range of high-dielectric materials.
The inlay features NXP’s UCODE 9 IC, which enables long read distances and fast inventory tracking of dense RFID tag populations. This high-performance chip also features 96-bit EPC, kill password, permalock, self-adjusting impedance, and memory integrity safeguards.
