At Least 9 Billion Reasons for Customer Satisfaction

With the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in Fletcher, NC on May 15th, Tageos has quickly and successfully expanded and further internationalized its manufacturing footprint. This will allow us to produce over 9 billion high quality inlays and tags by 2024 to satisfy our global customers.

Matthieu Picon, CEO and co-founder of Tageos, was noticeably proud as he cut the ribbon to officially open the company's new facility in Fletcher, NC in mid-May together with guests of honor from politics and business. “Today marks another milestone in our company’s history. I am more than delighted by our achievements, especially with respect to the extremely important Americas region,” Matthieu Picon said in his address to the well over 130 guests.

Producing maximum quality in high volume

In fact, this milestone is backed by highly impressive figures. With a global annual capacity of 9 billion RFID inlays and tags, Tageos can now already produce more than 2 billion units per year in the heart of the fast-growing American market. By the end of 2024, Fletcher will have expanded its capacity by an additional 2 billion units for a total of more than 4 billion units per year. The new facility will enable Tageos to produce innovative RAIN RFID (UHF) and HF/NFC products with the highest ARC-certified quality and performance in high volumes.

The new facility at the Quality Point site in Fletcher houses sales, administration, and customer service offices as well as 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space equipped with state-of-the-art production lines for the latest technology in RAIN RFID (UHF) and HF/NFC inlays. Fletcher already employs nearly 70 people and represents a multi-million-dollar investment.

On the day, Tageos successfully introduced itself as a good new corporate citizen in Henderson County with a thoroughly enjoyable grand opening ceremony. Local, regional, and state officials and partners who have supported the project from the very beginning joined Tageos’ employees at the new location for an all-round enjoyable and successful event featuring live country music, local and French specialty foods, and, of course, some keynote speeches and addresses. These included a welcome from the Mayor of the Town of Fletcher, Preston Blakely, a video message from Rebecca McCall, Chair of the Henderson County Board of Commissioners, as well as introductions from Chris Hykin, General Manager Tageos Inc., and, as mentioned, Tageos CEO Matthieu Picon.

Both in their speeches and in personal conversations, all of the local guests emphasized their appreciation for Tageos' decision to invest in their region instead of moving to countries with seemingly more favorable cost structures.

The list of guests of honor was rounded off by Brittany Brady, President & CEO, Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development and representatives from the Office of Thom Tillis, US Senator for North Carolina, the Office of Roy Cooper, Governor of the State of North Carolina, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, and all their related team members, who provided great support and help as well. Like many of the other guests from the ranks of suppliers and local business partners, they all took advantage of the opportunity to visit the factory on guided tours.

Closer to our customers

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chris Hykin of Tageos said: "We are delighted to be in Fletcher, North Carolina, and thank everyone for the support and warm welcome we have received. Our new facility is another strong pillar within the Tageos family and our global manufacturing network. It brings us even closer to our customers in the U.S. and across the globe, enabling us to even better support them with fast, highly efficient, and sustainable delivery capabilities for high-performance products and improved customer services."

With the opening of the plant in Fletcher, Tageos also fully implemented the plans it presented just over a year ago. In February 2023, we announced our intention to internationalize and expand our production infrastructure by opening two new sites - Fletcher, USA and Guangzhou, China - and at the same time expanding production capacities at our headquarters in Montpellier, France.
